Part 3: Blushes and Bandages


~Raven POV~


You started to take off your clothes careful not to damage the open wounds that Itachi could not reach on your back. After doing this you started taking off the bandages, when you were done with that you turned on the shower and stepped inside. You stood under the running water for a few minutes enjoying how good it felt on your wounds. Blood was going down the drain, at first, you just looked at it… but then you realized you were losing too much blood. You turned off the faucet, put your lower underwear on and wrapped a towel over your bleeding body. You opened the door to see Itachi with his eyes closed sitting on the bed. Was he meditating? You didn’t have time for this. You breathed in a shaky breath trying to control as much emotion as you could into one word "Itachi"…


~Itachi POV~


"Itachi" you heard an almost trembling voice speak your name, breaking you from your trance. You opened your eyes to see Raven in a blood-soaked towel. You quickly gathered yourself. "Come over here, we need to close those wounds" You said as you motioned for her to sit down. She hesitated, looking at you doubtfully, but seeing as she had no more choices came at you reluctantly. Raven sat on the bed infront of you; you grabbed the ointment for healing and the bandages. "Okay now take of the….." You couldn’t finish. *Great….The Itachi Uchiha, former Akatsuki member, boy who killed his clan at the age of thirteen….could not deal with a girl without a towel* you thought to yourself as you tried, in vain, to hide a small blush…


~Raven POV~


"Okay now take of the…" he didn't finish. You looked over to him; he was apparently trying to hide a small blush. You sighed as you put your hair into a bun. Then you took off the towel moving it only for it to cover your chest. Since Itachi made no move to continue, you helped him. You took the roll of bandages and gave it to him. This act made him snap out of his embarrassment. He moved closer to you to the point you could feel his breath tickling your neck, but of course you didn't show it. You put the towel aside moving your hands on top of your breasts. He studied you a LONG moment. You couldn't help it you blushed, but it was just a little, when he started putting the bandages on; AND rolling his hands over you every time he put the bandages around you was NOT helping. When he finally finished there was what you call a 'sudden silence' both of you blushing a very light pink. Then when you calmed down you showed him your hand. He raised an eyebrow, but then realized what you meant starting to wrap your hands. When he finished everything, it was about noon. "I am going to make something to eat" Itachi said as he got up from the bed giving you some privacy to put your clothes on. Once that was done you headed for the kitchen smelling cooked ramen. You sighed painfully as you sat on a chair…..


~Itachi POV~


*Control yourself Itachi…you only bandaged her body…then why did it feel so…wrong…?* you thought as you finished cooking the ramen. You heard a chair being pushed back with a screeching sound; you instantly knew it was just Raven sitting down. A few minutes passed as you were putting the finishing touches on the ramen, feeling Raven's eyes on you the whole time. Feeling very uncomfortable you turned your head to face her, but when you looked at her face it was centered in another place. Before you could understand anything she pointed at something with her finger. "What is that?" she asked, not keeping her eyes from whatever 'that' was. You turned to see a clay bird perched outside the window. "Deidara…" you mumbled wondering why they would send a message this early on a mission. You open the window and the bird goes inside, eyeing Raven suspiciously. Ignoring Raven's confused glares you go up to the bird. "Release" you say as you form a hand sign with your hand. After one last look at Raven then back at you the bird transforms into a scroll. You open it, read it, then destroy it. You sigh as you turn around to meet Raven's face. Her face had not changed; she was still glaring at you. You waited, her face still the same. When you were about to go back to the kitchen her expression changed to that of angry and clenched teeth. "What was that?" she asked in a very cold commanding tone, like the one she used when you attacked her. "It was a…messenger bird send to me by my…comrades" you said, trying to sound 'normal'. "Comrades? What kind of comrades?" she asked again. Raven Daakirashi was clearly a genius in interrogatory, you had to be careful. "Let us just say I work for people outside villages…" you said hoping she would just drop the subject, but unfortunately she didn't." Outside villages? Like…for example the…Akatsuki?" You froze your face stiff from her response. She blinked seeming confused by your sudden reaction. When you were about to compose yourself she spoke. "I…recognized the clouds when I saw you in the moonlight, but I only called it…coincidence…I guess not" she said while shifting her gaze to the floor and moving her hand to support her chin. When you finally composed yourself you spoke. "How do you know about Akatsuki?" you asked, carefully reading her expression. It was still the same though, as hard to read as yours. "I heard about it when I was around Suna" she explained, you listening and remembering every word. "There were two Suna nin that were probably back from a mission…they managed to pass by me, of course they did not see me but I heard them talking about a Sasori of the Red Sand…" she trailed off in thought, but then shook it off by shaking her head slightly. "They said something about an organization that he joined…They called it the…Akatsuki saying it was composed of S-rank criminals…" she looked at you probably expecting a reply, you said nothing and thought about the letter the leader sent you, also making a mental note to tell the leader about the Suna-nin. Shaking your head you think about telling her or not about the message. The ramen was done and you took half while giving her the other half. You ate in silence, but for some odd reason Raven had a disgusted expression on her face while eating… When you finished you put the plate in the sink and headed to the window which was still opened. After a few minutes of silence you heard footsteps "Not to…interfere…or anything, but what did the message say?" Raven asked, her tone obliviously calm. "To tell you the truth… I am not sure if I should tell you" you said still debating. "Can I…trust you?" you asked looking directly in her eyes. She stared back with a somewhat bored expression. There was another of those 'sudden silence' events between the both of you.


~Narrator POV~


The 'sudden silence' continued while the two teenagers looked and, even if they didn't admit it, or showed it, admired each other. Both of them showing no emotion outside and feeling a thousand inside. Their stare continued on for one whole minute until Itachi remembered the letter. He sighed as he, reluctantly, changed his gaze at the window guessing the hour. By the sun's position it was probably two o'clock. In that one minute that Itachi and Raven had 'shared', Itachi realized that he had to tell her. He sighed again "I have decided to tell you" he said as he still looked out the window. "As you wish" said an emotionless-Raven shifting her gaze to his eyes, which were fixed in the scenery outside. "I am a member of the Akatsuki" he bluntly stated after a short pause. He looked over at Raven, her expression unchanged and still remained on him. "The letter was a letter of retreat…normally a mission would last one or two weeks maybe more, but I have only been here two days…a message sent this early could mean a lot of things…but…it only said to suspend the mission and report back to headquarters" he finished realizing that Raven had cocked her head to one side, a smirk visible on her face. "I see…when are you leaving?" she asked. "As soon as I can, the letter said it was urgent so I have to pack up now" he said as he went to his unpacked black bag. Raven debated on her choices she could ask to go with him or continue on her way… She sighed "Itachi…what if I came with you?" Itachi stopped, looking at her with unreadable eyes. He found no harm in it and she would be no burden to Akatsuki, she could even, maybe, be an Akatsuki member herself. "Are you sure?" he asked. "Yes, I am positive" Itachi shrugged. "Then, we are leaving now. Pack your belongings" Raven only nodded reaching for her bag…
