Part 4: I don't think so…


~Narrator POV~


It had been officially two weeks since Itachi's and Raven's journey had started. Raven had fully healed having no bandages or stray scars left of her past. Since they left neither of the two showed tiredness or weakness in their journey. Only few necessary words were spoken between them when important things, such as eating or resting, were discussed but other than that they rarely spoke to each other. Even through all this both enjoyed each others company and silence.


"We are almost there" Itachi's voice broke the silence in the surrounding area. Raven only nodded once, thoughts someplace else. They kept running through the trees; Itachi was getting suspicious on Raven's actions these past few days. They seemed off…He glanced to his right, Raven was still thinking about something…What it was, Itachi did not know. He could not take this nonsense no more, she had been like this since three days ago, but today it had gotten worse. He stopped. Raven broke out of her trance for a moment and stared at Itachi with a raised eyebrow. "Why did we stop?" she asked, fully aware this was not the place they were to go. "...just…wondering something" Itachi said as he glanced at Raven suspiciously, she just stared back. "Was it necessary to stop?" she inquired thinking of her own reasons. "Nevermind" Itachi said as he broke his gaze from her and stared ahead. Raven only sighed and shook her head "Whatever…" she said as she wondered when Itachi would continue on. As if answering her question, Itachi jumped on to the next tree being closely followed by Raven. While in the trees he thought; Raven would probably be useful for Akatsuki, she killed and felt, it seemed, no regret, she did not express emotions and kept her thoughts to herself, not to mention she did not tire down easily. She could even, maybe, stand as a challenge against him…


They were reaching a clearing, when they got to it they slowed to a walk and finally stopped infront of a rocky cliff with a big boulder in the base of it. To normal passing people this was just another part of the enormous rocky cliff, but, it was actually Akatsuki's main headquarters. Raven stared at it, aware of the chakra surrounding the rock and the opening behind it. Inside, there were different types of chakra sources, she counted approximately nine. The majority of the people had medium chakra power, but there were some who had greater amounts, for example there was one particular person who had an extreme amount. Exactly three times hers and that was saying a lot. The Daakirashi clan had a big amount of chakra…While Raven was thinking this and other matters, Itachi was looking at her, thinking how he would present her to the leader. Bringing someone to Akatsuki's main hideout was punishment especially someone whom he had just recently met. If he brought her unconscious, he could just say that he had found her in a village on his way back to the hideout and tell the leader to let her be their 'pet' as Zetsu likes to call it. But…this 'Raven' girl was special and bringing her unconscious could bring trouble but bringing her conscious would cause a lot more trouble. She would probably be put under interrogation or torture…or both. Itachi sighed; he was running out of options his head calculating what would suit better in this type of situation. His mind had waged all the possible outcomes and the final conclusion he didn't really like it, but it was the easiest way to get around things. He would bring her unconscious, he would invent a story which the leader would most probably believe and keep Raven under his wing. It was the perfect plan…all he needed to do now was knock her out. Coming back to reality he looked over to her, she was still scrutinizing the rock, or what was behind it with not a lot of interest in her expression. He was going to make this quick and easy, a blow to the fourth bone of the spinal cord, which was located in the neck, would knock her out for the next five hours, causing no pain at all. The blow would shut down her nervous system causing the brain to automatically shut down bringing with it, unconsciousness. He sighed internally as he prepared the attack. His sharingan-eyes searching for a difference in her, she was the same as before, with no clue of what was about to happen. His eyes closed, he disappeared and in the blink of an eye appeared behind Raven aiming a kick at her neck. She had barely turned when the kick hit its mark. Her eyes closed and she fell into the waiting arms of Itachi who placed her bridal style in his arms…big mistake. As fast as he had been he felt a kunai to his throat and a second latter Raven disappeared from his arms, but it wasn't Raven…it was a clone. Itachi was surprised at not noticing her. "What do you think you were doing?" the commanding-cold voice was back and it was not happy. Itachi just stayed silent. Raven spoke again in the same tone. "I am not weak Itachi-san your foolish attack was of no use. You did not even notice, that, while you were lost in thought I had made a clone…just incase something like this might happen…" her voice had changed drastically, from her calm-soft voice to a cold-commanding one. Itachi wondered if this was the voice her victims heard before death found its mark upon them. He wagered his options…no doubt she was stronger that he had imagined…but…she was not stronger then him. He swiftly turned around grabbed her wrist (the one with the kunai) and tried to hit her with his knee, she intercepted it with her other hand pulling it down with her weight. Letting go of his knee she grabbed his wrist down while he held hers up. They stared at each others eyes, not being able to move from that position. Both of them were trying to come up with back-up plans to intercept each other. Fastly, both separated and took out two kunais. Raven glared at Itachi. *What is wrong with him? I'm not looking for a fight…* she thought to herself as Itachi looked into her eyes trying to create genjutsu. Raven smirked, genjutsu was never going to work on her; Itachi saw this and gave up on long range fighting. He got closer to her. Raven looked at him one more time and did the same. Kunais clashed as they came face to face. Both trying desperately to cause damage to the other. Separating again, they disposed of their kunais seeing that they wouldn't go anywhere, and tried something new. It was now a taijutsu combat: kicks and punches everywhere, a dodge here another kick there, they were evenly matched and, surprisingly, they were not getting anywhere…


~Itachi POV~


You were getting tired, scratch that you were getting extremely tired. You were wrong before Raven could stand up as a challenge to you…and she was doing a very good job. Every single time you threw a punch or kick she either blocked it or dodged it…this was never-ending and you were already exhausted. After a few more kicks and punches you were beginning to sweat and pant, your breathing coming out in short gasps, something that did not happen a lot. You thought that any second you would collapse and Raven was going to beat you…no sooner you thought that when you noticed something, it was Raven her eyes were narrowed and concentrated but her face was that of cold disbelief. She was as tired as you were, when you slowed down she slowed down. You had never seen someone with this evenness like her. This fight was clearly not getting anywhere, but if you stopped for just a second she would land a hit that you would not be able to dodge…


~Raven POV~


Hit. Block. Hit. Dodge. Hit… your mind was working hard, thinking of new ways to attack him. You couldn't believe it. The guy was as evenly matched to you as you can get. Every hit you blocked, every hit he blocked…this was never going to end and your muscles were about to explode from each time you moved them. Even your bones were aching now, if that was even possible. You were worried that he would be able to hit you, but the weaker you got the weaker he got…


~Narrator POV~


Their bodies were getting weaker and their panting revealed that their muscles were screaming to stop. For each new punch or kick the pain was worse but neither of them wanted to admit that. Both, Itachi and Raven wanted to surpass each other, but they were, in no way, succeeding in that. In one of these events their punches flew and Itachi's right hand was caught by Raven's left hand, while Raven's right hand was caught by Itachi's left hand. They stood there staring at each other, their breathing labored now. They felt the waves of pain and strain in their bodies. Unconsciousness would soon overpower them and they knew it. They stayed in the same stance feeling how slowly their feet and hands grew numb…


Curious eyes were watching the display of these two powerful and determined fighters deciding not to interfere.


Raven felt her hands dropping and so were Itachi's, their vision was becoming darker…Both fell forward unconsciousness finally claiming this fight. They both fell to the side of each other on the rocky earth, completely unconscious…


"Nice display" said a hard voice with authority "yes…I didn't know Itachi had a twin" another voice said as he chuckled to himself. One of the figures turned Raven around, carefully, flicking some hair out of the way. "I don't recognize her, un, maybe she had an undiscovered talent, yeah?" he said as he gazed at her and then at Itachi. "Tobi thinks she is a good fighter" said another one as he nodded fastly.


While the others chattered one of them was standing away from the group. "Are you okay, Pein?" said a female voice beside him. "The girl is powerful I had never seen Itachi use his full taijutsu strength like that" he said in a monotone voice. "Well what are we gonna do with her?" she asked as she looked over to the others. "Bring them both in and when Itachi wakes up bring him to me" he said as he disappeared. She just sighed…"-I think she has a nice body, un, maybe I can gat her to be my girlfriend-" "In your dreams Deidara you could never get a girl-" "Okay guys bring them to the infirmary and when Itachi wakes up tell him that 'Leader-sama' wants to see him" she said happily as she gazed at the group. "You mean the girl to?" asked one of them. "Duh, un, pick Itachi up" said Deidara as he picked Raven up placing her bridal-style in his arms. "No fair! Why do you get to pick the girl?!" said the one Deidara told to pick Itachi up. "Cause she is lighter Kisame and with you carrying her-well I don't want to get to that, yeah" he said as he went over to the rock. Kisame just grumbled and entered behind him followed by a full-of-questions Tobi. Konan sighed as she followed close behind.
